40 and 300 gram bags of CompleteMe Renal Feline meal completer

CompleteMe Renal Feline

CompleteMe Renal Feline is a blend of superfoods and essential vitamins, amino acids and minerals to enrich and create therapeutic homemade diets for cats with kidney disease.

When used with recipes developed by VNG, CompleteMe Renal Feline will create a phosphorus-restricted diet with controlled calcium and sodium, suitable for cats with either early or advanced kidney disease. Both the product and recipes were developed by VNG's two Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists®, Dr Becca Leung and Dr Meredith Wall.

Key benefits

Phosphorus, calcium and sodium

  • Provided recipes contain ~0.7 to 1.1 g phosphorus per 1000 kcal ME when prepared with CompleteMe Renal Feline, which is similar to commercial renal diets like Purina NF Early Care and Advanced Care, or Royal Canin Renal. The phosphorus content varies in the recipes according to stage of disease.
  • The calcium content of the supplement (and therefore overall diet) is also important, as is the calcium to phosphorus ratio. Cats with early CKD may develop hypercalcaemia when fed diets with highly restricted phoshorus and a higher calcium to phosphorus ratio. Our early CKD recipes are formulated to have more moderate phosphorus restriction, and a lower calcium to phosphorus ratio.
  • Excessive sodium intake may increase progression of kidney disease. The provided recipes all have controlled sodium which meets but does not exceed the FEDIAF minimum for adult cats.

Betaine, prebiotic fibre and lutein content

Diets made according to the recipes will contain approximately 0.5% betaine, 20 mg lutein, and 1.4% oat beta-glucans and resistant starch (provided by CompleteMe Renal Feline).

How do I use CompleteMe Renal Feline?

Our Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists® have created a library of recipes that this product can be used with. These recipes include a range of protein and ingredient choices, and are formulated to be suitable for either early kidney disease (IRIS stage 1–2) or advanced kidney disease (IRIS stage 2–4). All recipes are formulated to have optimal protein, fat, phosphorus, sodium, calcium, fibre, and omega-3 fatty acids for cats with kidney disease.

We don't recommend using the product with meat alone; there is more information on this on our 'Recipes for cats with kidney disease' page.

As with any new diet or supplement, we recommend introducing CompleteMe Renal Feline gradually, beginning with only a small amount per day, and gradually increasing to the required amount over time. This will allow your cat to slowly become accustomed to the new smell and flavour of the supplement. This is particularly important in senior cats that have reduced appetite.
