Fresh look, improved formula

We have made the following improvements to CompleteMe Canine:

  • A therapeutic dose of Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed has been added, for improved dental health. A. nodosum powder is effective at reducing plaque and calculus, and dental disease is such a common and serious problem in dogs.
  • The probiotic blend has been removed, following requests for a canine product that doesn't include any probiotics.

All other ingredients and benefits remain the same, and the dose per kilogram of food has remained the same.

Key benefits

Antioxidants from Australian berries

Berries provide a range of beneficial antioxidants. Strawberries contain fisetin, which may have neuroprotective effects. Pterostilbene, from blueberries, is similar to resveratrol and may have anti-inflammatory effects.

Prebiotic fibre from green bananas

Australian-grown green bananas are a rich source of resistant starch, a type of prebiotic fibre that promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.

Added yeast fermentate for a healthy microbiome

Has been shown to improve the diversity of gut bacteria in dogs, promote the growth of beneficial species, and decrease ammonia and biogenic amine production.

Ascophyllum nodosum for dental health

Ascophyllum nodosum is a type of seaweed that has been shown to reduce plaque and calculus accumulation, improving periodontal health.

Preparation instructions

Ingredients can be cooked separately, as per the instructions below, or together in a slow cooker.

  1. Gently pan-fry the diced meat (and offal, if using) with 50 mL water until cooked.
Omit this step if you would prefer to use raw meat.
  2. Steam or microwave the chopped vegetables until soft.
  3. If using grains, cook as per the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Combine the cooked meat (including liquid from pan), cooked vegetables and grains, diced fruit, and oils and mix well.
  5. Allow to cool then add 15 grams of CompleteMe Canine and mix again.
  6. Portion and refrigerate, or freeze as desired.

If using a slow cooker: add the meat, vegetables, and any grains to the pot, with enough water or broth to cover everything. Add more water if needed during cooking. When cooked, combine food (including any liquid from the pot) with 15 grams of CompleteMe Canine, and the oils, and mix well.

CompleteMe Canine FAQs

Can I use CompleteMe Canine with raw meat?

Yes, CompleteMe Canine can be used with raw or cooked meat, like chicken breast or thigh, kangaroo, turkey, or pork. We recommend using human-grade meat, and freezing any meat to be fed raw for a minimum of 10 days. For areas with Trichinella, please freeze pork for 3 weeks before use.

Can I add this to a commercial diet?

CompleteMe Canine should not be added to any commercial diet, or used with other vitamin and mineral supplements. This could cause harmful excesses of some nutrients.

However, you can feed a balanced commercial diet along with a balanced homemade diet - see below.

Can I feed a homemade diet along with a commercial diet?

You can feed a balanced homemade diet along with a commercial diet, if you would like to.

For example, it is fine to feed 50% homemade diet, and 50% kibble. Both diets should be properly formulated to meet nutritional requirements. Canned diets, freeze-dried or air-dried diets, kibble, or commercial raw or cooked diets are all fine to feed with a homemade diet.

Please be sure to still add the required amount of CompleteMe as per the feeding guide, to your homemade diet, even if you are only feeding homemade food as part of the diet.

What is the shelf-life for this product?

For CompleteMe Canine, the best-by date will be a maximum of 11-12 months. There are several, important reasons for this. As our products contain freeze-dried foods, we want to ensure these foods are fresh and that the fatty acids don't oxidise. Some polyunsaturated fatty acids are at high risk of oxidation, meaning ingredients like marine algae can become rancid.

We also understand that some vitamins degrade over time, during storage. This means we need to ensure that the product contains a safe and appropriate amount of these nutrients from the date of manufacture until the best-by date. These nutrients should not be too high initially, or too low following storage. 12 months is the maximum time we can therefore ensure optimal freshness, nutritiousness, and safety.

What is your refund policy?

All items from our online store are sold on a non-returnable basis unless defective. Please choose carefully, as refunds will not be given for 'change of mind' or accidental purchase of the wrong product.

Please check that all items received are what you have ordered. If you have received an incorrect item, please do not open it. We will not accept any returns or provide refunds of items that have been opened, tampered with, or not in their original condition. Please let us know within 5 days of receiving your items.

If you believe that the product you have received is faulty or not as described, please get in touch as soon as possible. As per Australian consumer law, a refund or replacement will be provided.

Compassionate refunds (for example, following the death of a pet) will be dealt with on a case by case basis - please get in touch.
