CompleteMe Hepatic Canine FAQs
Can I use this product with raw meat?
Yes, CompleteMe Hepatic Canine can be used with raw or cooked meat, like chicken breast or thigh, kangaroo, turkey, or pork. We recommend using human-grade meat, and freezing any meat to be fed raw for a minimum of 10 days. For areas with Trichinella, please freeze pork for 3 weeks before use. Please discuss raw feeding with your vet; it may not be suitable for all dogs or households.
Can I add this product to a commercial diet?
CompleteMe Hepatic Canine should not be added to any commercial diet, or used with other vitamin and mineral supplements. This means that it can not be added to canned diets, kibble, air-dried diets, or other types of commercial diets. This could cause harmful excesses of some nutrients.
Can I use this product for puppies?
Please see our feeding guides for more information. We do provide a feeding guide/recipe for growing puppies with portosystemic shunts or other vascular problems, however this recipe includes CompleteMe Puppy as the supplement, not CompleteMe Hepatic Canine.
What is the shelf-life of this product?
For our CompleteMe Hepatic Canine supplement, the best-by date will be a maximum of 11-12 months. There are several, important reasons for this. As our products contain freeze-dried foods, we want to ensure these foods are fresh and that the fatty acids don't oxidise. Some polyunsaturated fatty acids are at high risk of oxidation, meaning ingredients like marine algae or green-lipped mussel can become rancid.
We also understand that some vitamins degrade over time, during storage. This means we need to ensure that the product contains a safe and appropriate amount of these nutrients from the date of manufacture until the best-by date. These nutrients should not be too high initially, or too low following storage. 12 months is the maximum time we can therefore ensure optimal freshness, nutritiousness, and safety.
