Key benefits

Omega-3 fatty acids from green-lipped mussels
May help reduce kidney fibrosis. Research has also shown that DHA in particular, has renoprotective effects in cats.

Betafin® natural betaine
Assists with weight maintenance and has been shown to have osmoprotective effects in the kidney. We only include natural (not synthetic) betaine, derived from beets.

Lutein and zeaxanthin from marigolds
Carotenoids like lutein increases antioxidant activity in the kidney. High dietary intake may decrease mortality in humans with kidney disease.

CompleteMe Renal Feline FAQs
Does this make a diet similar to commercial renal diets for cats?
Yes, when used with our feeding guides, CompleteMe Renal Feline will produce diets with a similar phosphorus content to commercial renal diets.
We have feeding guides for both early and advanced kidney disease, and the protein, fat, calcium, and phosphorus varies in the diet, depending on the stage of disease.
We try to provide a greater level of antioxidant and omega-3 enrichment in our diets, compared with commercial renal diets, and to supplement other beneficial additives like fibre and betaine.
Can I use raw meat?
Yes, CompleteMe Renal Feline can be used with raw or cooked meat, like chicken breast or thigh, kangaroo, turkey, or pork. We recommend using human-grade meat, and freezing any meat to be fed raw for a minimum of 10 days. For areas with Trichinella, please freeze pork for 3 weeks before use.
In areas with highly pathogenic avian influenza, we recommend not feeding raw poultry of any kind.
Can I add this to canned food or kibble?
No, CompleteMe Renal Feline should never be added to any type of commercial diet, including canned diets or kibble. This could result in harmful excesses of some nutrients. This product should only be used to make a homemade diet for kidney disease.
Can I just add this to meat only? I don't want to follow a recipe/guide.
Our feeding guides/recipes include meat only, with some other recommended additives like omega-3 fatty acids and fibre. You don't have to add carbohydrates like rice or potato if you don't want to.
We recommend using our guides/recipes, because they explain how to combine fattier and leaner meats to achieve the preferred protein and phosphorus content for the diet.
If you add CompleteMe Renal Feline to just any meat, you may end up feeding a diet that is too low or high in protein, or too low or high in phosphorus, for your cat's medical needs.
My cat is allergic to chicken, can I use this?
Yes, CompleteMe Renal Feline does not contain any poultry protein (chicken, turkey or duck), or any egg protein. It also does not contain fish, beef, lamb, dairy, pork, wheat, corn, or rice.
It does contain animal-derived protein from:
- Wild venison fillet
- Green-lipped mussels
What is the shelf-life for this product?
For our CompleteMe Renal Feline, the best-by date will be a maximum of 11-12 months. There are several, important reasons for this.
As our products contain freeze-dried foods, we want to ensure these foods are fresh and that the fatty acids don't oxidise. Even when freeze-dried, some polyunsaturated fatty acids are at high risk of oxidation, meaning ingredients like mussel or egg yolk can become rancid.
We also understand that some vitamins degrade over time, during storage. This means we need to ensure that the product contains a safe and appropriate amount of these nutrients from the date of manufacture until the best-by date. These nutrients should not be too high initially, or too low following storage. 12 months is the maximum time we can therefore ensure optimal freshness, nutritiousness, and safety.
